Ms. Melisa Smith

Hello!

I have 35 years of teaching experience, and this will be my 4th year at Oakdale STEAM. Originally from Rock Hill, teaching in my hometown has brought me great joy throughout my career. My husband, Brian, is also an educator at the Applied Technology Center. We have a daughter named Cathryn who recently graduated and works in Charleston. Our adorable lab-mix, Bruno, brings much fun and energy to our family.

I believe every child has unique strengths and the ability to succeed academically. My goal is to create a classroom where students feel safe to explore new ideas, ask questions, and challenge themselves. I strive to make learning engaging and meaningful, helping each student build confidence and skills that will serve them both in school and beyond.
